Smoky Country Style Ribs

Prep time: 15 min + 2 hours cooking time
Serves: 6
3 lbs. country style pork ribs
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup chili sauce
2 Tbs. cider vinegar
2 Tbs. liquid smoke
1 Tbs. lemon juice
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Sprinkle ribs with garlic salt and
pepper. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
Cook about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep warm. Place ribs,
rib bones down, on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Baste with
sauce. Bake 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours, turning and basting with sauce
every 30 minutes. Cut into serving-size portions. Bring remaining
sauce to a boil and serve with ribs.
Because this recipe is for a particular size pan, it adjusts the
number of servings only in multiples of 6.
